BurnThatBite ("we", "our", "us") is a food calorie and exercise analyser for Android. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using BurnThatBite you agree to this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Account info - your email address, collected when you sign in with Google or create an email/password account.
Food photos and descriptions - images and text you submit for analysis. These are sent to the Anthropic Claude AI API for processing. Photos are not stored by BurnThatBite after the response is returned.
Food journal entries - if you are a Pro subscriber and save an analysis, the result (text only, no images) is stored on your device and in our database.
Subscription status - whether you hold an active Pro subscription, managed via RevenueCat.
Usage data - your daily analysis count is stored locally on your device. It is not sent to our servers.
2. How We Use Your Information
To authenticate you and maintain your account.
To send your food photos and descriptions to Anthropic's Claude AI API and return calorie and exercise estimates to you.
To manage your subscription entitlements via RevenueCat.
To store your Pro food journal entries so they persist across sessions.
To show ads to free-tier users via Google AdMob.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
3. AI Analysis - Photos and Descriptions
When you tap Analyse, your food photos and any text description you enter are transmitted to Anthropic's Claude AI API for processing. Anthropic may retain API inputs for a limited period for safety and improvement purposes, subject to their own Privacy Policy. BurnThatBite does not store your photos after the analysis result is returned.
You should not submit photos containing sensitive personal information unrelated to food.

5. Data Retention and Deletion
Your account data (email, tier, food journal) is retained as long as your account is active. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us at the email below. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
Food photos are not retained by BurnThatBite beyond the duration of a single analysis request.
6. Children's Privacy
BurnThatBite is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
